251,000 people were hospitalised at Shaare Zedek in 2008.

85,000 people visited the emergency department in 2008 - a huge increase from 2007.

Shaare Zedek has over 500 beds, 15 continuing care beds for elderly patients and 70 cots.

More than 15,000 people pass through the entrance of Shaare Zedek everyday.

On 25th August 2005, there were 54 babies born in a 24 hour time period!

There are currently over 2,000 members of staff working at Shaare Zedek and approximately 700 volunteers.

In 2008, 17,850 operations were performed at the hospital.

Shaare Zedek runs several additional Programmes including a Teaching Programme for Foreign Medical Students,the Shaare Zedek School of Nursing and the Falk Schlesinger Institute for Medical and Halachic Research. The Hospital is also affliated to The School of Medicine at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
